Children's Rights

Every child all over the world should have the same rights but some children don’t. I think every child should have the right to clean water and good medical care but they don’t all have that. They need help from us. They live al over the world; in Africa, India and lots more.

We have been learning about the children of Kroo Bay. Kroo Bay is a slum community in Africa. The children there don’t have good medical care. One out of four children will die from before they are five. They need help.

In Kroo Bay they can’t afford good shelters so they use not very stable materials. If the rain is pouring, their houses flood then they would have to move out.

Save the children helps poor children in countries all around the world. I would like to buy the mosquito net from the Save the Children Wish List. It costs $13. It will save children’s lives. Mosquitoes may be small but they’re deadly.

Please tell your friends about Save the Children’s Wish List because they might buy something. It will help make children’s rights a reality.

Fossil Fun

Fossils are very old. In Room 5 we made some fossils. This is how you make them.
You need:
Clay,
Plaster of Paris,
Shells,
A loop,
Spray paint,
Black paint,
A small plastic container.
First get some clay and flatten the clay in the container.
Next you get some shells and place them in.
After that you pour plaster of Paris on the clay. You might need an adult to help you mix the plaster of Paris.
Later on get the loop and stick it in.
To make a loop, get a bit of wire and fold it.
After a couple of days when it’s dry, take it out of the container. If your fossil is too hard to get out of the container, get some scissors and cut the container so your fossil can get out.
Hours later get some bronze or gold spray paint and spray your fossil. When your fossil is dry you paint it.
Next you can varnish it so the paint is smudged.
There you have a fossil so you can hang it up on the wall.
